Modelling Net Ecosystem CO2 Exchange by Simple Tropical Ecosystem Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
SITE model was developed to study the response of tropical ecosystems according to environmental conditions for estimating of energy fluxes. This study analyzed the net ecosystem of CO2 exchange (NEE) by ecosystem modeling and field measurements in a semi deciduous forest located at 50 km of Sinop municipal district, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Continuous measurements of canopy CO2 storage and fluxes of CO2 were made in a tower of 42 m height using an eddy covariance technique. For ecosystem modeling was used SITE to estimate the NEE. SITE required a setting of parametrization. The better performance of the SITE model to estimate NEE was obtained during the wet season.

Gross primary production, ecosystem respiration and net ecosystem exchange in Asian rice paddy: an eddy covariance-based approach
Carbon dioxide (CO2) exchange between the terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere is one of the major processes affecting atmospheric CO2 concentration. In various ecosystems in the world long-term observations of CO2 exchange have been made for assessing the role of terrestrial ecosystems in the present-day global CO2 budget and to predict its changes in the future climatic scenario. The edd...
متن کاملIntercomparison of techniques to model high temperature effects on CO2 and energy exchange in temperate and boreal coniferous forests
The increased frequency of high atmospheric temperatures (Ta) predicted under current climate change scenarios may adversely impact net ecosystem productivity (NEP) of temperate and boreal conifers. The ability to simulate CO2 and energy exchange under contrasting Ta and vapor pressure deficit (D) is therefore an important attribute in models used to predict climate change impacts on conifer NE...
متن کاملSimulating the impacts of reduced rainfall on carbon stocks and net ecosystem exchange in a tropical forest
Forest models can be useful tools to improve our understanding of forest dynamics and to evaluate potential impacts of climate change. There is an ongoing debate how drought events influence the dynamics of tropical forests. In this study, we explored the role of changes in precipitation on tropical forests in Madagascar. Therefore, we derived a new parameterization of the process-based forest ...
متن کاملEffects of Nitrogen Addition on the Drought Susceptibility of the Leymus chinensis Meadow Ecosystem Vary with Drought Duration
It is not clear yet how extreme drought and nitrogen (N) deposition influence grassland ecosystem functions when they are considered together, especially in complex field conditions. To explore the response of the Leymus chinensis meadow ecosystem to manipulated extreme drought (45 days), N addition and their interaction, we measured leaf photosynthetic characteristics, aboveground phytomass on...
متن کاملFire as an interactive component of dynamic vegetation models
[1] Fire affects ecosystems by altering both their structure and the cycling of carbon and nutrients. The emissions from fires represent an important biogeochemical pathway by which the biosphere affects climate. For climate change studies it is important to model fire as a mechanistic climate-dependent process in dynamic global vegetation models (DGVMs) and the terrestrial ecosystem components...
